Insurance broker and risk consultancy Gallagher Australia started the new year in 2019 with a substantial construction business win.
Head of Construction Roger Irvine received the news that Gallagher had won the tender as insurance broker to Fulton Hogan just before Christmas in a personal call from the civil engineering and infrastructure contractor’s insurance manager Nigel Thompson.
One of the five largest construction companies in the Pacific region, Fulton Hogan is a $5 billion per annum turnover contractor with over 7500 employees across its Australian, New Zealand and Pacific Island operations.
“This is a truly massive win for Gallagher,” Roger says.
The Gallagher approach of taking the time to get to know prospective clients’ specific needs and commitment to using analysis and market knowledge to formulate a tailor-made solution were compelling factors in winning the Fulton Hogan’s insurance business.
Like Gallagher, the family-owned construction company is also committed to ethical business practices and making a positive difference to both the communities where it works and the wider society.
Nigel said the Gallagher team’s passion for their business and infectious enthusiasm for challenging the status quo, apparent at every step of the process, were the deciding factors in their success. He also cited the close cooperation of the team across New Zealand and Australia as being a key strength.
