CCF SA PRESS RELEASE: $670 million forestry sale proceeds should be redirected to bolster SE economy

A percentage of the South Australian Government’s $670 million sale of forestry assets in the State’s South East should be reinvested in crucial infrastructure in the region, an influential civil construction lobby group believes.

The powerful Civil Contractors Federation of Australia (SA branch) – which in South Australia alone represents more than 500 companies employing about 18,000 people throughout the state, including in the South East – has called on the SA Government to direct the funds towards financing vital road transport and other public infrastructure projects in the area, rather than be swallowed up in general revenue.
