The Return to Work Act establishes the Return to Work scheme.
It provides the framework for the delivery of support and services to people who have suffered a work injury to assist them to recover from their injury and return to work. The Act also outlines employer insurance registration and premium collection provisions, the dispute resolution system, the roles and obligations of workers, employers and ReturnToWorkSA in supporting recovery and return to work.
Return to Work scheme
Coming into effect from 1 July 2015, the Return to Work scheme will provide South Australian employers and their workers with personalised, face-to-face services and support that achieves the best possible recovery and return to work outcomes in the event of a work injury.
Funded through insurance premiums paid by South Australian businesses, the scheme will protect approximately 50,000 employers and their workers from the costs associated with work injuries.
