STATE BUDGET 2016 / 17 – WHAT’S IN IT FOR THE CIVIL SECTOR?

Today marked the third budget handed down by Treasurer Koutsantonis for South Australia.

Let’s start with those items related to businesses in general:-

PAYROLL TAX REBATE
The small business payroll tax concessions introduced in 2013-14 Budget will be extended for an additional four years to 2019-20. This means that for businesses with a payroll less than $1 million will continue to have up to $9,800 in rebates.

GRANT SCHEME FOR JOB CREATION
A Job Creation Grant will be available for up to $10,000 which will be paid over two years for each new full time equivalent job created in small and medium sized businesses (payroll less than $5million Australia wide) who are liable for payroll tax in SA.
