SOUTH Australian construction firms are celebrating the release of tenders today for more than $200 million of work on Government projects.
The projects to go live on the Government’s tender website are $174.3 million worth of work on the Oaklands Crossing upgrade, $16.4 million to be spent on the Port Adelaide rail spur line and train station project and the $15 million upgrade of the Tea Tree Plaza and Klemzig Park ‘n’ Rides.
Civil Contractors federation chief executive officer Phil Sutherland praised the fast tracking of the Oaklands Crossing project which was only announced in May.
“The project is an ideal opportunity for the SA Government to maximise the potential of its local industry participation policy and ensure that as much work as possible is awarded to local South Australian businesses,” he said.
Companies and consortia will have four weeks from today to prepare and submit an expression of interest, with the two highest-ranking submissions invited to submit a more detailed proposal.
