Re-skilling mature age workers.

Re-energising our regions.

The Operating Your Futures Program is an initiative of the Civil Contractors

Federation of SA. It is federally funded via the Department of Employment and

Workplace Relations National Priority Fund.

Plant Operations features prominently on Australia’s National Skills Shortage

List. The Operating Your Future Program seeks to help address this shortage

as well as creating job opportunities by focusing on:

  • Re-skilling workers aged 45+ years of age for jobs in the Civil sector
  • Re-energising regional areas by increasing the Civil workforce
  • Removing traditional barriers to employment

The Operating Your Future Program will train successful applicants in

nationally recognised Units of Competency including:

  • RIIRTM203E Work as a safety observer/spotter
  • RIICCM202E Identify, locate and protect underground services
  • RIIHAN308F Load and unload plant
  • RIIMPO320F Conduct civil construction excavator operations;
  • RIIMPO318F Conduct civil construction skid steer loader operations

A Plant Machine Training Simulator will be provided at each delivery

location for Participants to practice operating specialised machinery

in a safe environment.

Regions such as the Northwest Country and Limestone Coast where the

downsizing of mining and industry has led to redundancies, the Operating

Your Future Program aims to put mature age workers back on track towards

meaningful careers. The ultimate aim is more families continuing to live in our

regional towns, and our towns thriving as a result.

2025 Delivery dates for the 3 week course in Whyalla are
